Per IRS regulations, tax forms are valid only for three calendar years. If your most recent form was accepted over three years ago, you must submit a new one. If your tax form has been rejected, you can check the reason for the rejection by following these steps:
- Go to your Seller Menu
- From the Seller Menu, go to the Tax Center section
In the Tax Center, you will find the specific reason for your tax form rejection, which will help you understand what needs to be corrected.
Tax forms may be rejected due to missing, incorrect, or outdated information. Below are the most common reasons for tax form rejection and the ways to address them:
Expired document
If your provided document (e.g., passport or driver's license) has expired, you must upload a valid, updated document and resubmit the form. All contributors can upload updated documents directly in the Tax Forms section of their account using the "Upload Document" button at:
- https://depositphotos.com/taxCenter/w8.html (for W-8 forms)
- https://depositphotos.com/taxCenter/w9.html (for W-9 forms)
Once uploaded, please resubmit your tax form.
Missing or invalid Tax Identification Number (TIN)
If your tax form was rejected due to an incorrect or missing Tax Identification Number (TIN), you must enter your national TIN in Line 6 of the form and ensure it matches the number issued by your tax authority. Once added, please resubmit the form.
Missing or invalid name
If your tax form was rejected because the first or last name does not match your identification document, please update Line 1 of the form with your full name exactly as it appears on your identification document. Once corrected, please resubmit the form.
Address mismatch
If your tax form was rejected because the address in Line 3 was filled in incorrectly, please update it with your full address in the correct format as specified in the form.
